Default Oil in Throttle Body/Air Filter

I was looking for the cause of my excessive oil consumption on my 2001 Accord and noticed a large amount of oil residue on the the throttle body and Air Filter hose. The inside of both seemed pretty clean but there was oil caked on the outside. What does this mean? thanks

I don´t think that could be the cause a oil consumption...

I think you need to clean your engine...

look down the engine and see if theres some leak or turn on the engine and see if blue smoke is coming from the exhaust...

That is the only spot on the engine with any oil residue. It doesn't leak any at all. WHy would there be oil in that spot?

Is it burning oil? If you floor it and look in the rear view mirror, do you see a cloud of smoke?

Clean it with brake cleaner and keep an close eye on it to see where it would seep.

The inside of the intake hose is clean. It looks like the guy I bought it from just changed the air filter too. Idk why oil would build up in this spot

I suppose that rules out pcv issues. You know what that could be is a leaking transmission seal and as the fluid leaks and the axle spins it's slinging oil up there. Just a guess tho. You're going to have to clean it up and do a test run to see where it's coming from.
