Default Power steering help!! Please

About a month ago I bought my 98 civic ex , I noticed the power steering wasn't working but come to find out it was dry of fluid. I put some p/s fluid in and it worked but 2 days after that I noticed it was dry again and a big puddle under my car. I looked around and seen the boot on the steering rack was shredded and leaking bad so my question is ... Is that something I can fix by just replacing the boot or would I have to do something else, how much of a pain would it be?

I had this exact same thing happen to me, I thought I could just replace the boots but if it is leaking near the boots, that means the seals in the rack and pinion are shot, and you basically need a new rack and pinion. You can rebuild it if you want to try, but I opted for a used rack with less miles on it.

Its kind of a pain to get to to replace, good luck. I'm putting mine back in today.
