i have just got my car on the road after doing some work skunk2 cam,vavles springs and retainers, and some other little stuff, so i took it out and it kept bogging down sutting of,vtec will only kick sometimes, im going to get it tunned friday but i wanna make sure its not that something else before i go up there and have to pay them for stuff i could have fixed myself

which skunk2 cams?
who installed parts?
ecu? basemap? by who?
what have you checked?
valve adjustment specs?
cam timing?
cam gear settings?
valve clearances?

giving other members the details to help you will in turn get you help

 

Pro cams not tuned, prolly means you ran it on stock ecu which results in too much fuel.

Please pull your spark plugs and post a pic.

 

the engine is b18c type r skunk 2 stage 2 cams with skunk 2 valve springs and retainers,arp head studs, mugen head gasket and headers. the computuer is the stock one that came with the swap , i have checked and ajusted the valve clearance and the cam gears are at 0,0 oh and me and my dad put the parts in my dad was a diesel mechanic in the bavy for 25 years and has ripped apart more engine then i have seen

 

I'm still boggled by why people think they can mod the **** out of a car, and drive around and crack vtec on a stock ecu, or a "basemap"..

tuner 2 or pro 2?

double check cam timing?

if all this checks out, then you need to take it to the tuner and stop beating on it. I understand you may be excited but calm down and let the tuner do his job. If there are other problems he will either tell you to pay him to fix it or come back although you will have to pay him for his time.

 

A modified programmable fuel injected engine has no similarities to a diesel ship motor. Sorry, that knowledge is not going to translate well, as you can see, and your motor can feel.

Now if your father tuned Motec, Haltech, Autronic, Crome, you may have a puncher's chance.

Stop hitting mad vtak, your pocket book will thank you.
