White Smoke
The other day i ran low on oil (thanks to a massive oil leak) and my car started making this nasty ringing/rattling and producing white smoke. Noise was from AC tensioner pulley jumping off...but even though it runs perfectly and has oil in it, I started it up today and theres enough white smoke to cover the rear of the car at idle. Its a 92 dx with stock d15b7 with c/a intake. Everything i read says headgasket but my coolant is fine and its pure oil that hits the ground from the leak. Could it be piston rings...valves? Im taking it to a shop in 2 wks when i have money but its my only car and im wondering what would happen if i drove it. This happen to anyone else??
Doubtful it's the headgasket. I'm also doubtful your car makes it another two weeks. Oil is a lubricant. The headgasket has nothing to do with the oil. Other things, like internal engine parts, do.
What would you say is causing the smoke then? It had plenty of oil when i started it. It doesnt smell that strong OR like oil to be honest. And its a massive amount when its idling. Theres no excessive tapping, just a little which all my hondas did, and absolutely no knocking. It runs smooth as silk. Thats why Im confused as to what it may be.

Alot. a drop every...20-30 seconds? I think its rear main seal as well as possibly the front. Plus my bro filled it so....enough said. Could that be a possibility?
IDK past history of car except that a blonde drove it and maybe a mildly retarded bf who made "repairs" based on the handiwork Ive seen. Shes got 124.2k miles and the internals are scorched from no oil Im assuming. Just need it to last until I can afford a b16 swap..
Yea I looked that up prior to leaving and took my brothers car. First thing tomorrow it goes up on ramps. was driven MAYBE a total of 6 miles when I drove it home after initial smoke. Just hope nothing is damaged. The misquito repelent was a joke. Back in SC they had trucks that sprayed poison and my civic produces around the same mass of smoke
I was maybe 15 at the time lol but case in point I burnt all that oil away(God knows how much i actualy over filled by) that mower is 23 years old to this day still runs great !!(old school john dear) that happened 6 or so years ago.
