Default Motor Mounts

I have a bone stock 1997 Civic HX, all of the motor mounts are shot. I'm looking to replace them all with oem or close to oem mounts. I've searched on here, google, etc.. Anybody know where the best place to buy them is? I use the car as a dd, so nothing that'll rattle my teeth out. I'm at the point where I'm thinking the Honda dealer may be my best option.

honda dealer will probably charge you as much as a set of hasport mounts costs, excluding labor to install if your planning on them doing it.

If its a budgeted fix, I've heard good things about obx mounts. They are an 'ebay company' technically, but a lot cheaper than hasport, innovative, etc.

Best bet is to stop in a dealership, get a quote, and go then shop around online. Find what fits your budget best and go with that.

Considering buying these. Are there additional mounts that I would need?

Two lower torque mounts are not included with that link you have provided.

If you are just looking for stock replacements, go to Honda or rockauto.com. Otherwise, just go hasport if you want aftermarket. The lower torque mounts should stay OEM if you do not want rattles.

Torque mounts are going to still be needed if you buy those aftermarket ones.
Myth is that if you buy aftermarket mounts you can discard the torque mounts.
Call and ask Hasport and they will tell you that you still need the torque mounts.

ok if you install hasport or any other urethane mount kit..the torque mounts do nothing. Regardless of what durometer urethane mounts you use, the engine/trans will never ever ever move enough to put any pressure or anything on the torque mounts. The torque mount Do Not provide any support or control of movement with aftermarket stiff mount kits...they are only there for "the ride" and serve NO purpose.

If you are going to install OEM style mounts then Yes you will need torque mounts

edit: I would like to say i have hasport mounts in my civic which are 62a (softest available) and my engine doesn't move hardly at all

For those of you that say that OEM torque mounts do nothing (confusing since Honda engineers saw fit to put them on in the first place) let me offer up my own experience. When I first got this bucket. I didn't realize the kid had not installed any toque mounts. I could feel the car handling very poorly. I would go so far as to say that I could feel the engine shifting in the bay slightly. Bough t a full set of Hardrace mounts and that issue became a non-issue. Why someone would take a chance on running without them even with aftermarket motor mounts makes no sense to me.

The OEM's lasted 16 yrs. You'll prolly retire the car in another 16.
