Default Fuel gauge no longer working (Resolved!)

I took my cluster out because the speedometer wasn't working and some of the lights were burnt out. I read on here that the solder joints on speedometer circuit board go bad. I touched up all the solder joints and replaced all the burn out bulbs. On re-assembly I have discovered that the speedometer now works but the fuel gauge (that DID work before I messed with it) now no longer works. When I re attached everything the gauge went to past full very slowly. I took it back out and checked the whole cluster but couldn't find a cause. I would assume it is a cluster problem as it worked before I took it out.

Is there anything I should be looking for as a known issue?

I'm sorry. I thought I put that. It's a 1996 Accord EX 5-speed.

I have accord 96, remove the cluster again and check the screw behind the board... there are 3 or 4 screw to rpm, to fuel, to temperature...

try to tighten slow the screw and try again...

I have tried that one. It does make a connection because as soon as the cluster gets power the needle shoots straight up.

Ok I happened across this thread. https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-civic-del-sol-1992-2000-1/si-cluster-3143002/ And it suggested that it was possible I busted one of the lead wires when I put it back together. So I pulled it back out to have a look.

I am not sure if you can see it with my bad camera but that circled wire was broken. I took a strand from a braided speaker wire I had laying around and soldered it in to fix the broken wire. I put it back together after the fix and TADA! The fuel gauge works again. I did run into a small setback however......

THE EFFEN SPEEDO DOESN'T WORK AGAIN!!!!!!1111oneone
I swear I am going to remove the solder from the entire speedo board and re-solder the damn thing.

I wanted to update. I got the Speedometer working again. I removed all the solder I could and added new solder to the joints. While I had it out I replaced the two 1000uf 16v capacitors. While I had them out I looked up the data sheet for them and found that they have a 1000 hours life expectancy. They been in the car for 17 years (or 149019 hours) so WAYYY past the 1000 hour life span. I put the car all back together and TADA! IT WORKS!!! And I am going to assume that the new caps are keeping the needle from jumping around as it rises and falls.

Here is the data sheet for the original capacitors.

If anyone has questions for me just ask away.
