i was running a turbo civic on the freeway... it pulled up on me while i was already goin 100... so i dropped it in 4th... when i hit about 6.5rpms i wanted to shift to 5th but slipped n hit 3rd! it hit red for like a split sec n threw it in netural... pulled over ... n chilled for a bit.... think there is any real bad harm to my moter??

 

careful at speeds like that on a freeway. put pedestrians in danger. anyhow, why would you want to shift into 5th at 6500rpms....wouldnt you just wanna get to redline first?

 

when i dropped it i passed him up about like 1/2 a car to a car ... so i wanted to throw it to 5th... think there will be any real danger to my motor.... the freeway was completely empty... i usually don't race when there are other cars on the road... the civic hit me up

 

If the motor runs good then your probably don't have to worry. Usually it will bend valves or jump a tooth on the timing belt. My step brother put a rod threw his block on a mitsubishi doing a 3rd gear redline and downshifting into 2nd.

 

koo... the car started up fine n ran normal... i was just a lil worried i might have blown something that i didn't kno

 

if youre not having problems with your car now.. it should be coo. avoid doin that kind of thing.. you might not be so lucky next time.

hmm... sounds similar to what i did... but for me it ended up with bent valves... which was luckily fixed on warranty...i jus had a friend do a compression and leakdown test for me... after i had my mishap.... maybe you should do the same
