Default DA9 brake caliper piston

Okay I was changing my rear brake pads on my 92 integra and on the right rear one the piston wasn't going in at all, and after a while of playing around with it I got it out by pressing the brakes really hard. Now I'm stuck on what to do...should I buy a new caliper or just replace the gasket on the piston?

And will a 3rd gen integra caliper work on a 2nd gen?

it was stuck when I was trying to push it back in so I could put the brake pads, but I managed to get it moving by pumping the brakes and than I unscrewed it out and cleaned the dirt off it.

*Sorry for the confusion.

piston was stuck, pressed breaks really hard and got the piston sliding. took the piston off the caliper and cleaned the dirt off the piston and screwed it back inside but the gasket is worn out.

The piston wasn't stuck. You just weren't doing it right. The rear calipers on our brakes need a special tool to SCREW it back in (they don't simply press in like the fronts)

I couldn't find a screw, so I actually found a very large chisel, and used it like a screwdriver to get the caliper piston back in.

Or are you saying you couldn't screw it back in, and it wouldn't budge till after you pulled the piston out and cleaned it, then you were able to screw it back in?

as long as it's all in decent shape (no pitting or anything like that) I say just get new gaskets.

a 94-01 caliper will bolt up but the brake line hose is angled differently. that's the only difference, speaking from experience.

Yes I couldn't screw it back in till after I popped it out and cleaned it. What do you mean by pitting? The piston looks fine just some little dirt that won't come off. I guess I just need to replace the gasket then?

pitting can happen to old calipers that hace been sitting around a long time. moisture can get into the lines and calipers and cause little rust pits in the metal. as long as everything looks nice and clean inside then some new seals will be fine.
