How to change h22a timing belt
What do I need to remove to get the timing belt changed.
Im not doing it. A mechanic is. Im just curious
it has power steering and cruise control.
can i just tell him to leave the cruise control out when hes done.

H22 belts are tedious and specific. To outline the whole procedure here is not fruitful, though I will advise a few things. Change the water pump even if it is only a year old, just do it. The whole front of the motor gets peeled, valve cover, timing covers, power steering res, cruise control belts etc.. There are two belts, one timing, one ballancer shaft, change both. The ballancer shaft must be held with a 6mm pin or bolt or screwdriver from the access plug at the back of the motor on the drivers side. You will need an impact wrench to remove the ballancer bolt! Don't trust someone that has not done this before, these are interference motor (VALVES WILL BEND) and will cost a bunch after that.
I change these all the time and it takes about 3hr to do, maybe 4 the first time. PS, check the ballancer for loosness or slipage, they fail very often and can cause severe damage. Good luck.

I got the kaizenspeed tensinor and gates timing belt. and a water pump from autozone.
Ill get a balance belt from honda this week. The mechanic doing it has been a mechanic for 20 years. so i hope he knows about this stuff lol.
