How am I supposed to tell if I have y8 head and trans.
Also I bout the car like this just don't know anything about it. Also is there away to find out if that's the original engine that was in the car. Because my hood says its a d1.6 but I have a d15b in it.

Looks like you have a swapped mini-me engine - D15B block/D16Y8 VTEC head.

What ECU? What CEL codes?

Codes, if there are any, would give you a hint as to whether the swap was done properly.

The P2P ECU is the proper match for the D16Y8 head:

Why anyone would replace the wonderful 3 stage VTEC head is beyond me, unless there was something wrong with it. I'd love a 3 stage VTEC head lol. 55-65mpg with 130hp? Sign me up!
