Default Vibrant 3" Sleeper Muffler

Anyone using this muffler on a turbocharged B18C1? I'd like to know how it sounds. I'm wanting to swap out my 3" magna-flow muffler. As good as it is, Its a chambered style muffler not the best for High Flow. I should gain a small amount of HP there.

Those sound like ***, precisely because its not chambered. They look sleeper, but sound like some 17 year old just bought a 5-prior owner honda. Those magnaflows that you have do over 700hp or more on the domestics with the same design. You're fine.

IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT.

Haha, hey now... I had one on my CRV, it actually sounded decent. Then again, it really depends on what your version of that is and what exactly you are going for. Also, what Honda hasn't been sold 10 times? Hehe...

That's not nice lol. I have the Vibrant Streetpower Black muffler. I'm not sure if it's the same one, but I think it sounds great. I have a resonator and a 3" high flow cat though, and I have an electric cutout, which always sounds better :-P

It won't be worth the money to put it on. Might as well invest the money in something else. There's really not a huge difference between my 3" exhaust and my cutout.

Well it was either that Vibrant muffler or this true straight through 3" magnaflow muffler.

Why not bolt up a cut out if your going for performance? Nothing beats the sound of a straight 3".
And quiet as hell when closed. If you have the stock piping.
I like my setup a lot. Really makes people do double takes when I open it up.

all i know hes running one with a 3inch exhaust(straight pipe). For a while he wanted to get a stock looking muffler(vibrant). once he did that it sounded horrible again it sounds good down low its only on the top end where is starts to sound really bad. im not to sure if he added any resonators or not. i was going to order one of these till i heard his and decided not to. I just went with 2.25" with a Mugan twinloop. and just recently installed a 3" electric cutout from DMH to a reducer to the rest of the exhaust.

I have one on my car and it sounds great. Really not even that loud. I'm running 3" all the way no resonator. It's on a boosted car

I'm really amazed that people post up asking how something sounds over the internet. Especially for something so subjective.

Have you tried getting on Youtube and listening to sound clips?

Not only is it subjective, but the sound will greatly vary between setups. Different lengths, amount of bends, type of pipe, different manifolds, turbo sizes, engine size ect... I could write a novel on that. The point is even if you listen to clips, you probably won't get the same results on your car. Just read what the clown typed above - "It had a straight pipe with a random muffler slapped on - it sounded bad"... Now THAT was technical... Too many uneducated opinions. Buy it and try it, if you don't like it, repeat the process.

You're right. You can only get an approximation and then only if you find a setup even remotely similar to your own. But in any case listening to an actual sounds is better than the "sounded good" responses you're about to get.

I had the Vibrant muffler for a while on my hatch... Its sounds OK and quiet for about 3 months until most of the packing burns out, then its just like any other coffee can muffler.

im gonna fill you in on my secret. its called a twister muffler from flo-pro , we have a 450 WHP all motor USTCC NSX at our shop that was GOD AWEFUL loud, WHen i say loud i mean yamaha R1 with no exhaust loud. we dynoed it before hand and after and lost little to no power on an all mtoor 450 WHP 12K RPM revving nsx motor. but after we put 4 of these on we were able to say it sounded like a normal nsx. I use it on my supra, i use it on a lot of exhausts i do here at the shop.

That is nothing new and quite a few companies make different variations of it as well. Also, what a turbo engine needs is not the same as a N/A engine...

I agree with this statement. Keep the quiet, raise the boost for more power.

Ok, but please do multiple videos. Not the typical camera sitting on the ground behind the car revving it. Let's see the car under load inside (outside if possible), at varying rpm increments, not just trying make a quarter mile, please.

I had the same vibrant sleeper muffler on my turbo ls/vtec integra sedan, ramhorn, gt3540s, 450 hp, I ran a 3 inch downpipe to gutted 3 inch cat, to 3 inch exhaust with stated muffler. I loved how quiet the car was just putting around I would confuse it for my stock TL sometimes.... ofcorse when the open dump tube starts talking it got agressive but the muffler overall was never raspy it had a deep sound....I would run them agian!!

But the question is... If you already have something that's allowing for over 500whp, currently, and runs fine, does it make sense to replace it with this, as there is no power advantage for doing it?

I preformed a back pressure test and I found that under boost with the current muffler installed is was getting about a 3-4psi reading VS with just a strait pipe reading of less than 1psi. So with that being said, I decided to go with the Magnaflow unit. It's a strait through.

I have one on my racecar. That will be coming off because i'll be running open header.

Currently the exhaust setup is just a Myers header, and 3'' exhaust all the way back, to this muffler. It looks good and sounds really, really nice. I was impressed as I original thought like Mac the muffler would sound like ***,.. Then i realized I knew what i was doing unlike most ricers.

This is one of the first start up videos originally. This was a few days after it had been running. This was a Cold start.

This is the only video I have of the idle with the ITBS and my Version 1 Reaper cams. I can honestly say it should sound massively different with a manifold.. as the Itbs were idling around 900-1100 on this video.
I would also like to add that with this exhaust setup, i traveled over 52 miles a DAY, mostly interstate and would be @ 80mph close to like 5K or so.. and it was rather quiet compared to other exhaust setups i heard. It was NOT raspy in the least and was really nice and deep, when i got it, you'd know though.
