Default The ever changing clutch pedal...

Brand new Honda master and slave not too long ago... the car shifts fine, pedal pressure if fine UNLESS you leave the pedal pushed while waiting for say a gate to open. Then when you go to release it, the clutch grabs literally right off the floor. I bled the system several times, I have no noticeable leaks or drop in fluid level. To me that means failing hydraulics that won't hold pressure, but why and where when they are brand new from Honda? What could be the problem?

Could be a worn clutch. Several of mine have done that once they got a little long in the tooth.

I didn't think a worn clutch would do that. It grabs right at the top like the Exedy Stage 2 should and has for it's 20,000 mile life so far in the transmission. It's only right off the floor with a long hold of the pedal to the firewall like pressure is bleeding off or bypassing the hydraulic pistons. Normal shifting is perfectly fine all the way at the top.

was the flywheel machined? if it was, and a shim to compensate for facing the flywheel was not installed, the clutch will sit closer to the engine, and will not disengage with a decent amount of "free play".

With the clutch pressed, can you hold it there indefinitely and the car will not creep (IE bleed of enough to engage the clutch?

Brand new Exedy flywheel and Exedy clutch were used. One time I held it for a while testing how bad it was and I stalled the car the moment my foot moved not even a half inch backing off the pedal. I didn't want to let it slowly grab if pressure is bleeding off to wear the clutch more than it should.

I had a prelude that did this exact same thing your describing.. Never figured it out. I replaced both master and slave. Also clutch. Bled it numerous times. What i did was just leave the car in neutral at stop light and let off clutch. Press the clutch when ur ready to go.

Yeah I never ever ever leave my car in gear at stop lights. That's just more wear on the system. Only waiting for my front gate to open since its maybe 15-20 seconds. It doesn't do it all the time though, last night I sat at a stop sign for 2 minutes with the pedal pushed and it grabbed at the very top how it always does. Hence the ever changing, random **** lol
