Which rods for h22a1?
I am doing an h22a1 swap, and I recently bought a block that had pistons without connecting rods. Since I don't have the money to re sleeve and run forged pistons right now, I was wondering which rods would be the best fit for oem pistons? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I actually got my hands on some type s rods for pretty cheap, and they are brand new still in the plastic, but they are p5m, and i know they use the free floating design. Does anyone know if a machine shop would be able to fit the old a1 pistons with the newer type s rods?
Just my 2¢ worth here... I would suggest picking up some new 0.25mm OS P5M pistons and rings. Have the machine shop hone the FRM to match the pistons. Throw in some new bearings and you have a brand new bottom end.
P5M rods are listed as H22A4 rods. P5P parts are type S specific.

Looks like I read the part number wrong lol, ah well.
The whole reason that I'm trying to use these pistons is that they're oversized already, the guy before me has already bored this block 0.5mm, I'm trying to see if I'm able to just get these a4 rods rebushed to accept the press in pin.
