d16z6 rebuild kits?
does anyone make a rebuild kit with forged componits?
after a long history of small little issues and now messed up spark plug threads... its time to rebuild this worn engine. I figure since i have to tear it all down anyway, why not but good componits in it, which brinds me to my question... things tend to be cheaper when bought in kits. The only once ive found have NPR cast pistons. would i be ok with just throwing some eagle rods with thouse or shoud the pistons be forged as well?
I also happen to have a spare z6 head (the one on there currently has more issues than the plug threads) but two of the valve leak so im looking at a set of supertech racing valves and hoping its the valves and not the head itys self thats the issue. alos thinking a blox stage one cam while im at it.
as far as power goals? im not really sure yet. im looking at going with a turbo next year maybe (depends on what happens with the harch im lookign at and the ls/vtec parts i have) but this will definatly be a dayly driver... so 250hp tops i think.. maybe 300 but that may be pushing it as i need to keep it above 30mpg

Check out realstreetperformance.com. They have combo deals for rods/pistons, as well as head packages that are cams/springs/retainers/valves. They also sell complete gasket kits. Do it all through them via phone call, and maybe you'll get a "I bought everything here" bonus, too.
The Forced Induction forum should be able to steer you in the right direction. The problem is that your goals are only marginally higher than a stock D series can handle safely (220-240whp).
There are two options for building: either a Vitara piston/ Eagle, FJT or LS rod combo OR a forged piston (JE, CP, Wiseco) and Eagle rods. The latter option is more expensive, but can handle more power AND has a better compression ratio. You will have to choose which setup better fits your needs.

I already steered him in the right direction though 
That said, I've always been preferenced to the forged, bumped compression method. I've got my wallet on some JE FSR's on Eagle's right now.

I was considering it, but for the conservative power levels I'm looking at now, I think JE FSR + Eagle will hold me just fine. Before that I was looking at CP + Pauter. 1200bhp Gogo!
Pauter X beams, for the true baller with a fat wallet. Their B series applications rated to 400bhp per cylinder, but you're also looking a little over a grand for a set of 4.
I tend to sit down and write out what I want to do with the car, then draw my ideal whp/tq curves, then match the parts to what will handle that at ~75% capacity. Then I put together a parts list, and stick to it.
