Hello,

My 3rd just started to scratch a little bit before going into gear at all rpms. I'm just wondering if the gear is still good enough to replace the 3rd/4th sleeve and replace all synchros with the carbon ones. It just started to grind and I stopped driving it since. I just dont want to spend money on the tranny if the third gears teeth are effected.

Any help or opinions gladly appreciated.

 

We wont know if 3rd gear is still good untill you open it and look. Sounds like you need a sleeve set minimum. I would open it and examine it closely, then buy parts from that point.

 

When I do take it out, I'll post a pic on it and see what you think. Probably not till June, but I'll update this topic. Thanks!
