Default turbo lamp

Currently inthe process of making a turbo out of a torn apart turbo. Only thing is I'm not really sure what type of to use that would be ableto hold the weight ofthe section. Here is one I am going off of. http://hooniverse.com/wp-content/upl...Turbo-Lamp.jpg
Sorry if this is the wrong sanction to post this.

going by how sturdy most house lamps are, you would be fine with some 1/8" solid rod bent up to do this with some flanges to weld to.

the biggest part of it all will be making sure that its balanced enough on the base not to fall over.

I would use tubing of some sort to hide the wiring. 3/4 steel tube painted would be cool. I have been planning something similar myself

The only issue I can see for myself is I don't have a welder. Any ideas the ? Lol. Going to home depot to get some steel rod.

Lol, really no options if you can't weld. Do you have a drill along with a tap and die set? Lol

Why would I need that? Was planning on using the existing bolt holes if necessary

I'm a pretty handy fabricator, but I can't figure out any way to make that without welding or using a tap to thread holes

What I figured I'd do is buy some new bolts that would work with the current threaded holes on the different sections, and bend the bar around and just tac it to the bolts. Thoughts?

been busy but this is what I have so far, there has been NO welding, and the brackets and bolts all come from the turbo. that rod was a BI*** to bend. lol, next is to pick up a filter and wire in the lamp.
Enjoy!!

Yeah, could have used some welding to make it look nicer.

I'll try to finish mine up tonight and post it to give you an idea with what I did.

I would have threaded the end of that rod and stuck it in one of those six bolt holes in the housing and one end into the cartridge. Then done another rod the same way from the cartridge to the top piece.
