I have a b17a1 and the guy I bought it from said it was a 200 si tranny it has ysk-3 code in the case but the vin plate is gone I was wondering do I need to buy a clutch for the b17a1 or the 2000 si, help please and also do I need a dyno tune if I have ctr pistons , skunk2 stage 2 cams , alpha series valves , springs and retainers or could I do a basemap?

 

ALL b series clutch's are interchangable. Um i hope you ALLREADY have basemap and are not just running around with all that done and not even a chipped ecu. yes a tune is well worth it with what you have done. on the flip side have you checked to see if it does have all you say it does...ppl lie to sell cars all the time

 

See if it says what? And It's not running yet still in the building process I have a chipped ecu and was gonna order a new sst chip with a pre loaded rom on there from the ppl who send it and do you think il have enough p2v clearance? With the ctr and s2 set up?

 

Well no where in you'r OP did you say it's not on the road. ppl come on here and say "i bought a car with"(insert big mod list) and it doesn't actualy but since you're building it right now. But as far as p2v with tuner 2's w/ctr pistons you should be ok but if you want to be safe clay the engine.

 

i have pro series stage 2 cams i thought they wont work but how much room do i need between the valve and the piston to be safe, and i need to lock VTEC without takeing the pin out and flipping it

 

Um what ? are you saying you want constant VTEC ?

 

the b17a tranny never had a plate it only had d stamp on it ys1 if I recall.
so if the plate is missing two holes near distributor is a b16
also biggest mistake a lot of people do is neglect d fuel (also upgrade injectors)

 

i have pro series stage 2 cams and i was needing to know how to lock vtec withouth the bb method but i already did it and my clearances are .0250 for intake and .270 for evhaust with vtec engaged

 

nad mr.beeks the plate is missing and the holes are by the motor code plate

 

Just to clarify not all Bseries clutches are the same. The 90-91 Integra and 89-91 JDM CRX Sir/Integra XSi/RSi use a smaller splined clutch disc and are not interchangeable with the larger splined transmissions.
