Default ARC induction box questions

is this box better than the Comptech Icebox, Mugen Intake, J's racing *****, and AEM intake?? I was thinking about spending the Cash on it and wanted to know about gains, losses, throttle response, and fitment. Can anyone help me out?

Personal Experience: NO, for the Money get the Mugen (Cheaper than the ARC too and has the most hp gains of all the intakes listed)

Did you re-route the A/C line to make Mugen fit? Or, does your car not have A/C line, Mike?

exactly how much power does it make over lets say stock with a filter? Can you justify spending $700? (i think) for a few HP? I probably would , just make sure you get what you want.

I'm a wimp I need my A/C
I Rerouted them (Which was also needed more so with the ARC Box) Its not that hard to re route the AC lines for the Mugen.

Used my 2 hands and Bent them slowly and carefully I Suggest Vacuuming out the AC System as the lines are under high pressure and if you do crack one you don't want Freon and AC oil spraying everywhere. It also makes the install easier since you can disconnect the lines, install the box then reinstall lines. (Yes they still must be rebent slightly either way)

Is it just the stock intake arm or intake box that touches the ac lines when using the Mugen intake?

I thought the ARC induction box was designed to give more of the famous "throttle response" than peak power.

But I like the Mugen one more myself too.

I think the fact that mugen uses the stock arm for thier system speaks volumes. If I had the cash I would go mugen.

Yes it would, but when I dynoed it it lost 1-2 hp. Stock arm is more than enough.

Hey... I haven't heard too much about the Mugen intake. How much more do you think it makes than say a stock airbox and foam filter?

Is it noticable?

Stock arm and Comptech foam filter gave the tested car 1-2hp gain
Mugen on the same car gave 8-9 Peak so Mugen over the Foam I'd say 7hp or so.

Very noticeable, has a Great power spike from 3000-4000RPM
