Looking for some help here.

My car wont start.

The starter is fine, alternator is fine, battery is new, main relay is good. Replaced the fuel pump Saturday and it started fine. After sitting overnight it wouldn't start. The fuel pump is getting power still though. Then changed the spark plug hole gaskets and the valve cover gasket. We were getting oil in our 1 and 2 spot spark plugs. We cleaned those out and put it all back together and it fired up first try. Started 3 more times that night (about an hour apart). Sat overnight, now will not start again.

The motor is trying to turn over, Makes its jump to turn over then fails. Same thing it was doing before all of the replacements.

 

Back to basics: fuel, spark, compression. See which one(s) you're missing.

 

The parts are new, and I didn't go cheap.


I will go back to the basics one more time. Maybe I missed something

 

check your grounds! cap n rotor as well

As mentioned, back to basics, new parts can be DOA, will not be the first time.

When the engine will not start, do you hear the fuel pump priming, each time you turn on the ign. to the run position?

Have you checked for spark when it will not start, use an HEI spark tester, and check each cylinder. 94

 

I get the car to turn over but not start. I hear the pump every time. Where do you suggest I get the HEI tester?

Got the spark plug tester, everything worked fine. Now we are going to get a compression test kit. Anything else?
