Help please - Is my AEM EMS Fried???
Hello,
My ems was working perfect on my g23 build. had a bad gasket so the car went in for a change.
During the change am told that a micro - second circuit shot happened. The mech went for the alternator bolt with the battery still connected. The engine was off and so was ignition but ems was connected. This was micro second but yet it did happen.
So now, the car cranks forever but it wont start. whats happening is as follows:
- EMS connects to the laptop without issues
- EMS shows all the sensors working, if i disconnect it gives me a error
- EMS is recornding them and other vitals without issue
- Start Sync does go on
- I get 2-5 timing errors in the cranks which is normal from what i read
- I tried to upload a fresh firmware but it already has 1.24, so i dont know what happened there
- We checked there is spark in the plug cables
- the spark plugs do not seem drenched in fuel but it smells unburnt fuel and they are black
- the car fires up perfectly with the stock ecu no issues
- already tried changing plugs but no change
- I tried uploading older calibrations but still only crank no start.
PLEASE HELP is it fried? what could be a solution? Have i blown the ems? or i still have the change to be safe?
Regards

sounds to me like a fuse is gone somewere in the car. IE: backup, ecu, something small like that. that is why electrical systems are setup as they are in case. I highly doubt that ems is bad.
Thanks jdmh22eg2
I already checked the fuses under the hoot they look good, If a fuse was out why would it start with the stock ecu?
I read somewhere that should check outputs on the wires of the ems, that is just sitting with a voltmeter and checking each one right?
Thanks for the reply
