Default 95 Civic Engine Code 9

I have a eg hatch with a mini me d15b7/z6 and its throwing code 9
CYP - Cylinder position sensor

i have a brand new vtec distributor so i dont know why its throwing this code.
Also when ever i give it gas you can hear a knocking noise coming from the head or distributor i cant really tell but when your driving it goes away.

Any suggestions?

Good day... have you fixed this problem? i have the similar problem.

I have been reading a lot of information and posts on the net regarding this Code 9 CYP error on my engine. But everything is not working. My engine is a JDM ZC SOHC VTEC on rechipped PO8 ECU. Here is the case:
Early this year, i had my cylinder head gasket replaced, since the head is already out, we shaved off about two thousandth of a millimeter from the head. the build was going fine until after about a month, my engine started to throw code 9. thinking it was the distributor, i had it changed. but still code 9 was on. checked the wiring based on the Honda service manual, all seems to be good. just to get the code 9 out, i did the following: cleaned the TB and IACV, adjusted the TPS, changed the fuel pump, main fuel relay, spark plug wires, spark plugs, fuel filter, distributor rotor, re-checked all over again the wiring, replaced the chip 3 times, advanced and retarded the timing, and advanced and retarded the cam gear fro +4 all the way to -2, . i also tested my ECU with another car. the ECU works just fine, and no CEL at all. but as i use my ECU back on my car, CEL code 9 will turn on, then it will be hard to start, not to mention rough idle, as if the engine is misfiring.

i hope you guys could help me, i cannot afford another engine swap. my friends say that my engine is quite creepy and weird.
