PCV valve
Really sorry in advance for this question, but ive been searching for write-ups on egr port cleaning and ended up doing the work today..
as i removed everything, i took off my pcv valve, and noticed it made a noise when i shook it up and down
Is my PCV valve bad? i think i noticed somewhere someone saying that a shaking noise was a sign of a bad one, but i think mine did this from day one, and its not old
I tried to google this, but i guess i wasnt wording it right, if i could get confirmation on this, it would be awesome

Yes, you should be able to hear them rattle. However, I will say from recent experience that just because they rattle does not necessarily mean they are working properly. I was getting a ton of oil in my catch can and it was also leaking from around the PCV valve, but it still rattled when you shook it. Replaced it (~$10) and no more problems.
test the pcv by popping it out when the engine is running, put your finger on the valve hole and if it sticks to your finger (vacuum) and makes a little pop/click noise your pcv is working fine.
