Default swapping h23a1 to h22a4 in 94 si ecu?? Please Help

Hi guys this is my first post i have been searching for hours trying to find a solid answer but i am stuck forgive me if this is a newb questions..

I blew my h23a1 engine about a week ago, i purchased a used h22a4 on craigslist. I dropped the motor in and i am finding mixed answers about wiring i have the h22a4 harness i took it off and just used my old one mistake or not? I have a p14 ecu which is apparently not vtec compatible do i need to swap the harness and buy a p13 or get a p28 chipped ecu and will i have to swap the harness back?

2. i have read that i just need to put the h23 TB injectors and dist cap on the h22 and i will have no problems but my vtec will not work properly with the injectors. which really isnt a huge deal at the moment i just want to get it running.

3.Is the h22a4 an obd2 and is there a jumper or modchip to convert it to obd1 while retaining the ability to use the vtec and have everything running properly

Im lost and i really dont want to get too deep in the swap without having some forknowledge about the procedure i have the engine in and everything initially i read that everything was compatible and for the most part it would all be pretty straightforward but further digging is leaving me questioning.

Thanks in advance

get OBD1 injectors and P13 ECU. make sure you have a proper knock sensor for it to run its best. your H23 wiring harness and all the sensors off the H23 need to also be swapped onto the H22A4. All youll have to run is the VTEC and VTEC pressure switch 2 wires. search and you will see how easy it really is.

also make sure you have the EGR components hooked up properly as well or it might hesitate sometimes even though VTAK will still operate its never a good idea to run with the CEL constantly on.

looks like you might already be. im pretty sure you can use the upper plenum of your intake, distributor injectors and a few other little things from your h23 to convert your obd2 h22 to a obd1 h22 and then all you would need is a p13 and you should be good to go.

when you try to do a swap and cut corners youll end up putting more time and money into it then you wanted

whats not hooked up?

even though i used my original harness on my obd2 f20b i still had to cut some plugs off the new harness and lengthen a couple on my h23. also the f20b is literally the h22 destroked with higher compression and type s cams so they should be extremely similar and all of my plugs found a home.

The thermostat and pretty much everything coming from the radiator I wasn't going to run it I just wanted to see if it would begin to turn over. But it looks like there is multiple grounds attached to the thermostat that is currently disconnected.

I pulled plug 1 out and it was full of oil after trying to turn it over I think this is due to the fact that it was on its side for a while, also I checked my fuel pressure and the line was completely empty is it possible that the ground wire hooked to the thermostat is related my fuel pump worked fine before the swap and from what I have read that is unrelated to any plugs under the hood is it possible that my relay is fried?

Also the 4 pin connector near the water pump about half way down the timing belt cover do I splice that into something on my old harness? I don't know if it is the tdc sensor or water pump sensor..?

Thanks for all your help so far I'm inches from the finish line I feel!!
