I just became a member here and I have a slightly knowledgeable regarding Hondas.. I am asking this question for a buddy of mine.. He recently got a valve adjustment on his B18 (LS), Sk2 intake manifold, Sk2 throttle body, and an AEM fuel rail.. has 2.5 piping all the way back.. No cat, No resonator.

The people from One6 Motorsports here in Chicago said he wouldnt need to tune it but, Ive heard from many that with those engine mods you wont see any of the power from those upgrades unless you get it tuned..

The only reason Im asking is because I drive a SOHC and I walked all over him today... doesnt seem right to me lol.. i am a more experienced driver but still.. I pulled the entire way.. Just doesnt make any sense to me.. I thought he would see some type of gain whether he got it tuned or not.. Possibly not?? Possibly lose power??

What ECU is he running? Stock untuned?
