Icon3 GSR crank stuck

Engine shutoff while rolling to a stop, car started briefly and was idling rough before shutting off. after that the car would not crank over.

removed the starter and head and the crank will still not sping by hand.

the wheels spin freely even when trans is in gear, but the crank doesnt.

someone please help idk where to begin.

are you sure ? attach a 19mm socket to the crank bolt and try turning it.

Has the car overheated ??? Did you hear any noises before the engine quit and would not start again ???

Have you checked the mechanical timing to make sure your cam/crank phasing is not out of whack ??? Severe valve to piston or valve to valve contact will stop an engine from spinning.

I was not aware of the engine overheating if it did and didnt seem so. and no significant noises before it died.
the head is off as i stated so regardless the block still doesnt spin
the head was inspected and looks fine
timing was fine

If the crank is indeed seized then what's the question? Start a teardown and start inspecting or buy another engine. At the very least drop the oil pan!!!

if the wheels spin freely in gear the clutch may have come apart and a piece is holding the flywheel

Ew. Looks like somethings coming apart either way.

yea doesnt look so good. there was some shavings in the oil pick up filter but theres no play in any of the bearings. assuming one of those spun would that be able to sieze the entire crank? it didnt have a knock it justs suddenly shut off. ill post a video of when it ran for the short period of time.

its possible for the crank to seize without making noise although it is uncommon. Like i said though if the wheels spin freely in gear without turning the crank it is highly possible that the clutch fell apart and something is holding the flywheel from turning.

unfortunatly that was not the issue... one of the rod bearing halves spun over the other and was so jammed in there that it wouldnt allow the rod to rotate around the crank. once i loosened the rod cap the crank came loose

there must have surely been a sign that the bearing was going to spin.
