Dumb question but does anyone know how you'd go about fixing the folding mechanisom/function on the ITR recaro seats. as it stands now I have to get out of the car to let someone in this is a hastle. the thing circled in green is what you pull up on to let the seat fold forward mine doesn't seem to "catch" just goes up without any restiance(unlike the driver one).

 

Cable is disconnected at the handel or at the latch/ratchet.

Remove the cover upholstery on the back the problem should be obvious to see once cover is removed. 94

 

Will pull the seat from the car and look into that. AFAIK the only thing that is remotly liftable is the front section where you back rests.

 

bump: this isn't as simple as it seems anyone else ever have this issue even with a regular seat from you'r 2dr teg ?

 

Stock seats have zippers tucked into the bottom of the back cover piece, all you do is "fold" out the zipper and unzip it and you are able to pull the cover off, you will also most likely find some hog rings, you can use two sets of pliers to open them.

Your Recaro seats may not have a zipper, it may be stitched together or just folded, maybe velcro or just hog rings. 94

 

Found the problem, the lacthes at the bottom are attached to the slider via a cable on the side. one of which snapped so the latch was stuck connected it to the other one works now. it was all stiched at the bottom i'd probably have ruined it if i tried to take the whole top portion off.

 

Good to hear you got that bad *** seat back to fully operational.
