95 Integra not starting
Hello, I have an Acura integra that is not starting up, my motor cranks but it doesn't start, there is spark and when I turn the key to the on position the check light engine does not come on and also I do not the hear the fuel pump prime. But when I open the tank I hear the pressure relieving. Please and thank you for the help
The fuel pump and fuel injectors are controlled by the PGM-FI Main Relay and the ECU/ECM/PCM.
Your Google search found these https://www.google.ca/#sclient=psy-a...w=1024&bih=565
Even more here.
If you searched you would have found, one of the first things you do if your fuel pump does not prime, is to check/redo the thermostat housing ground(s).
Have you done that?
Also, MM&Y with trim level always helps, 95 Integra what?
There is the look/listen/feel test, touch/hold the PGM-FI Main Relay as you turn on the ign. switch to the run position, [NOT start], keeping your eyes on the cluster, see what the CEL does, listen/feel for the "clicks" from the PGM-FI Main Relay.
Have you done that?
For anymore trouble shooting you will need a 12V test light, [NOT the LED type] a multimeter could be handy, but you can do a lot with a $2.99 12V test light, even some things a multimeter can't do.
Have you got one? 94

my car is a 95 Special Edition, thank you for the. like i have 2 main relays and when i put the key in i dont hear a click but when i move it to start, i hear the click. the car cranks just fine but doesn't start up. and also when i put the key to start, the CEL does not come on at all, whereas its supposed to turn on for 3 seconds than turn off. i opened up the cluster to see if it was painted black but it was not. to tuners this is a dream come true but im sad that the light doesn't come on at all... I don't have a test light but i have a multimeter that measures 4 types of electrical currents with different settings for each current. i believe those settings are the resistances?
with the key in the start position, the cel will not illuminate. in the run position, it should illuminate for a few seconds.
if it doesn't, first, do as suggested and check/clean the ground cluster at the thermostat housing

"thank you for the. like i have 2 main relays" does that mean you have tried a second, "new" PGM-FI Main Relay?
ECU/ECM/PCM are all the same thing, [cars computer] by differant names.
ECU= Electronic control unit.
ECM= Electronic control module.
PCM= Power-train control module.
Go and buy a 12V test light, but not the LED type, it is a lot easier to test the PGM-FI Main Relay with a 12V test light then it is with a multimeter, and you can not use the meter to trigger the fuel pump relay. 94
