Whoa, Brice is posting in tech?! Mind blown.
The CX and VX were the lightest models and weigh exactly the same.
The CX was the absolute base model, it had no side molding, no passenger's side mirror. It's also the most underpowered (8 valve 70hp D15B8 boat anchor coupled to an extremely long geared 5 speed manual)
The VX is largely the same, however it was geared for all out fuel mileage, it's got special lightweight wheels (9lbs each), front lip to reduce drag, 92hp Vtec-e engine (D15Z1) with lean burn mode (also coupled to the same long geared 5 speed that's in the CX) It comes with a tach and upshift light. The rear bumper has a defuser up under the car to reduce drag and the stock trunk floor is made of coroplast to reduce weight.
The DX model came with a 102 hp D15B7 16 valve engine coupled to either a slightly shorter 5 speed manual or a 4 speed automatic. It also added side moldings and a passenger's side rear view mirror along with a rear wiper, and intermittent front wipers.

94EG8, would you happen to know if the driving experience of the CX might be comparable to the CRX HF? With only 62 stock horsepower and an incredibly long geared transmission, I felt like I was learning to drive all over again. It was an odd car to drive. Still felt nimble due to the weight though.

That's interesting about the floors of the vx. I was getting 45 mpg city and could have done better with a tune up and a lighter foot.
Plus some of the oddball hypermiler types who do aero mods can pull quite a bit past 50, I've heard of 70 before. Don't know how true that is though
These things got very, very good mileage.
It probably is, but I don't know for sure. We never got real CXs here, ours came with the D15B7, DX transmission and 11.9 gallon tank. Also, sup?
Whoops! That should have read trunk floor/spare tire cover. The floor of the vehicle itself is still steel. Edited my OP.
That is true.

That's how much I'm making on my VX love it best daily ever.
I mean think about it. You can drive a shitty Prius that quietly sneaks up on children in the street, or you can drive a Honda Civic, that has good looks, and a 5 speed to match, and get even BETTER mileage.
I don't see the contest.

In canada there was a cx "plus"
It came with a few different features then the usdm cx.
Cx "plus" came with...
11.9 gallon tank
clock
rear wiper
I have one and was confused (mostly about the tank) so I did alot of reading. One of deshlongs threads covered all of this in it. Was really good info to learn.
I pulled apart a '95 CX that had a rear wiper, but had nothing else special about it (the D15B7 and 11.9 gallon tank were standard on all Canadian CXs)
I've only ever seen one vehicle branded as a CX-Plus. Not sure about the clock on it but if you have one, then it might have been added as an optional accessory. Canadian 1995 CX models (likely what the CX-Plus is) had the rear wiper. Note we had no other trim of hatchback that year, so the CX got this bonus feature presumably. But, as mentioned, our CXs always had the D15B7 and 45L (11.9 gal) tank.
Exactly my thought when I see a Prius there god awful in looks. I can at least do tasteful mods to my hatch.

Not to mention the thousands it cost to replace the battery of a hybrid. I use to give my neighbor grief for owning a prius back when my VX was completely stock.

I think the CX plus branding was probably just some dealer stickers, that was a common thing to do at the time. A local dealer would locally install some dealer options and then get a local sign shop to print them up some decals, often these cars had aftermarket wheels, or optional OEM alloys, they also frequently had optional factory spoilers where applicable.
^ I tend to agree that it was not a trim that was branded at the factory, unlike some special editions of the 5G sedan and coupe.
In fact just a couple of days ago I spotted a 1992 LX branded as a "Limited Edition" with decals along the doors and trunk. I couldn't find *anything* remarkable about the car whatsoever aside from the decals. I smell a marketing ploy.
