Thanks for all of the help, I've been lurking for a while and taken a lot
Hey,
Picked up someone else's problem recently, a 3 door 99 civic DX.
When I bought the car I knew it was going to be a lot of work, there was far too much electrical tape and zip ties for the work to have been done by someone competent.
I bought the car being told it had 1 code causing the check engine light on, ...
It had 7
My fault for not scanning before purchase, but the price was right. so a few weeks later and a lot of wrench time I've got a fun little project car, that is running like a top except for a rich condition I can't seem to cure ( fuel trim of -20 and a P0172 code every several trips. I will be starting another thread on this)
She came to me with 4-2-1 header, high flow cat and 2.25" custom exhaust, and a sporty aftermarket suspension.
thats about the end of the good, it had next to no interior, seized up door handles, and a laundry list of other issues I have just about sorted..
My favorite touches were the "short throw shifter" which was the stock shifter with a few inches cut off the top and an aftermarket grip flopping loosely on top, Oh and there was the rear rubber brake line zip-tied to the exhaust pipe... yes plastic zip tied: scary
anyways.. thanks for the info I've taken so far and looking forward to joining the boards.. i will help where I can.
