I got a idle prob with my 97 civic with a b16a3
when idle is cold its perfect purrs right around 1k but when it gets fully hot
my idle will Sometimes bounces like it will be 800rpm then raise slowly to 1200 and bounces off and kinda sounds like a 2step or hits a rev limiter going from 1000-1200 rpm and when this happens sometimes I turn the car off and back on and will be fine again or sometimes it will keep going or once I drove like 3-4 miles and was gonna record it when I get home and it was idling fine again

any ideas???

 

Give the IACV a good cleaning.. That's certainly a cheap and easy place to start.

I am thinking it had to be a sensor since it will do it only during operating temp
maybe even a stuck thermostat? Or like I said a map sensor going bad please any suggestions
