Hi All,

I am about to change my Oil and I wanted to know if using a 10w40 Semisinthetic oil would do it. I have between 40 -60 Farenheit here.

I know VTEC systems works with oil pressure so I want to be sure putting this one wont affect its operation.

I think that engine calls for 5W30.. those are the SOHC's right? I have the same and use 5W30. Use what ever you've been using for the past. I use high mileage, cars at 180k lol

 

Why 10W40? I run nothing but 5W30 and I stick to Royal Purple or Mobile1 synthetic.

 

5w30. 10w30 if you wish.
