Default F23A5 engine overhoul

Hi all,

I have Accord w/h F23A5 engine and need piston ring replacement.

Can I use F23A1 piston ring into F23A5 engine?
Or can I change piston & ring piston using F23A1?
Is it work with my F23A5 ECU?

Appreciate for your kindly advice

Hari

Of course you can use the A1 pisons and rings, its still the same engine. And the ECU is perfectly fine.

Hi..

Thanks for your information,

But I still little bit worried since F23A1 compression is 9.3 and F23A5 is only 8.8.
If I use F23A1 piston, is it increase the compression become 9.3 also ?

And what is the effect? Is the ECU still workable with higher compression?

Thanks for your advice in advance.

these are good questions since the bore and stroke are the same on both engines. with the a1 piston, yes the c/r will increase, rings should be the same. my only worry would be valve to piston clearance. you will have to find out valve duration and travel.
