fuel gauge never shows full, any way to fix?
When I first got my teg I did not see that it said premium unleaded only and so the first time I had put gas in it I put in 87 octane. (I do know that usdm gsrs have knock sensors where the ecu takes over and retunes everything so that no damage is caused. Then every fill up after that I've only done premium, 91 octane.
But, the fuel gauge in the gauge cluster never goes past 3/4.
It no has been swapped to a JDM b18c p72 ( not type r) but I know that the JDM version doesn't have a knock sensor and I've never put anything in but premium.
I've had my teg for almost 2 years now, and the gas gauge still has the same problem. I let the gas pump shut off and then round off the price. There's no faults in the sender unit, nothimg wrong that I can see.
I've had the gauges out before , but I don't believe the needle is off set because it clocks out just under empty and just over full.
Ever since I've had the car its had a p0441 cell which is "incorrect purge flow"
Its not the gas cap as I've replaced that, and I'm sure its the charcoal canister.
Anyways, any input as to what this could be? I'm not even sure if the low fuel light still works because as soon as the needle gets to empty I fill it up which ends up being abou6-7gallons. (The previous owner said that it always went to full when he had it, but he couldve been lying. )
Thanks so much!!!

That's awfully weird. I've owned Honda's in my many years but this is one issue I have to turn from and say good luck. I wished I could help but one issue I've never heard before
Adjust the float, this is from a Civic, but pretty much the same thing, "slightly" bend the rod the float is on down a little, this may take a few attempts to get right.

DO NOT remove sending unit when your tank is full to the top, you will have gas everywhere.
Good luck.94

Lol yes it is very strange and has annoyed for too long, after this I guess maybe I'll tackle that incorrect purge flow issue.
And thanks! I'll try that out soon, the gauge says I'm almost to a "1/4" so it could be like 1/2. Do you recommend that I get a new seal ? I don't want to have any problems with the gas and sparking a fire ball when I go to start my car lol. I've done fuel line work, but not the gas tank. (I'm also assuming no cellphones or anything right? Anything I should avoid while doing this?)
Thanks again!!

Once you have it working correctly, pull the sending unit once more and replace the gasket, untill then just be careful when you pull the sending unit so as not to damage the gasket. 94
a good way to test your fuel level sending unit is to find the resistance specifications and test the signal wire with the unit out of the tank, flex the arm and check to see that it is in spec.
Alright, so since its 7 gallons every time I fill up and I know that there is still gas in there, at least 5-6 gallons. I'll sea foam it first, if not I'll get to work on finding specs for the sending unit and pull it out, the main thing is I want to make sure the low fuel light comes on. I'll post back later with updates.
Thanks for will your input !
