I have a Civic that sat up for over two years. I decided to get it running for my daughter. I had a new fuel filter put on, new battery, spark plugs and wires changed, oil and filter changed. Manifold replaced. Anifreeze replaced and air filter replaced. My problem is after my daughter drive the car for about and hour it just stops in traffic. The car would be running but want move. I checked the transmission fluid and its good. The car doesn't give any signs that the tranny is going out. So what could the problem be. Please help me my daughter needs her car for work.

 

you can clean the solenoids and screens out .. does the shift indicater in the cluster flash when the car stops moving?

 

She has an automatic. Do I still need to clean the solenoids and screens?

 

the auto cluster should have a shifter indicater thats has P N D 2 3... do they all flash when the car stops moving and u have it in gear hitting the gas? it wouldnt hurt to clean them they are on the front/bottom of the trans and one is on the top/front side.
