New oil pump doesn't match to block
To be clear the mating surfaces are fine but theres a small ridge on each side where the oil pan mates to the block. What should I do about this? I have a Felpro pan gasket and I thought maybe it would seal this. I was also going to dab some rtv on there but I'm not too sure about it.

the only work I've had done cylinder bore and decking.
Clearances were checked beforehand, everything was good. If you can see that image, the other side is not as bad as that one.

a dab of rtv there and u should be fine..... only way to truely fix it is to pull the studs and use a flaper sanding disc and make it flush. but its not a big deal as the gasket is slicone or rubber and will seal that little bit of difference...

Another thing. I cannot get this stupid crankshaft sprocket(for the timing belt) back on. It came right off now problem whatsoever when I first removed it.
I've cleaned it off. I've even sanded material off the sprocket and its still too tight. If I try to bang it on there the end of the crank starts digging into the sprocket
