Icon2 2000 ex build

Sorry if this sounds like a noob thread but I am fairly new to the Honda scene so PLEASE bare with me. I bought a 2000 ex coupe 5-speed for a fairly reasonable price. The engine had 230K on it so I bought a junk ex of the same year with 109K on the engine. I had a mechanic swap engines...Not a bad job... Now we're running pretty good.. I bought a Megan racing cat-back system from a friend and had it installed... by now I'm feeling pretty good with the progress I made in the first week. I wasn't really concerned with appearance but The very next week while driving it to work a kamikaze buck jumps out of nowhere and ***** up my headlights, hood and left side mirror. Now embarrassed to be seen in it I ordered and installed a Siebon CF EVO hood, dual halo projector headlights, Euro tails (just because) and CF JDM side mirrors. So after a quick grand Bambi cost me, I'm finally ready to move on to performance.

I know I'm going to get asked... what are your expectations?? In which my reply as of now is.... Horse Power! I have a pretty good job so I don't really have to go cheap. What do you guys suggest my next move should be?

I understand that this is SOHC and I will be told to do a swap but this is my first build. I want to run with the D16 for now.

chipped/socketted ecu? intake? injectors? I plan to turbo later on.

Additionally, I still have the original D16Y8 block and head

Positive feedback please

I suggest your next move is to not put those parts on. it's not 1999 anymore.

I wouldn't do a damn thing until you actually turbo it. bolt ons are useless on a d series.

He's not saying "don't replace the parts", he's saying "don't replace the parts with THOSE parts". And he's right, unless you want to be the laughingstock of everywhere but the barrio, and maybe even there.

Your next move should be to ask something specific. Right now you have YET to ask a technical question. What you HAVE done is pretty much start an opinion poll on how to spend your money, which does not belong in a tech forum. There are MANY ways to make power and frankly this question gets asked a dozen times a week. narrow it down and come back with specifics.

Ok... first I get it about the euros... I kinda went cheap just to get away from oem. I should've went LED.. I get that part. I guess I should have went HID on the headlights as well but the cf hood and the megan catback? really? OK lets go in another direction. I am eventually going to go turbo. I know this much. So the main question here is how can I prep for turbo a little at a time before dropping 4 grand on a turbo? What should I do to prep for said turbo? I know that I am going to need an OBD1 and some sort of tuning SW... I'm studying up on that. I'm an automation engineer I can learn to tune my car. I am asking where do I start? What size injectors should I get? What is the best size turbo for a Y8 while keeping my AC? Do I need to wait until I rebuild the other Y8 with performance parts before I boost? Do I need another intake before turbo? Can I add parts in segments before turbo or just gather everything and do it all at once?

Best thing to do for going turbo, get in the forced induction forum and read, read, then read some more. I would say just save up and do it all at once. You could go with a go-autoworks kit and keep your AC.
