hey all. i have a 94 del sol si. d16z6. d-series transmission. the problem I'm having is if I'm cruising down the highway, sometimes the transmission will get locked in 5th gear. it doesn't happen all the time, just maybe about 20-30% of the time. it shifts smooth for the most part ( ever now and then a little grind going from 1st to 2nd when i shift too fast). I'm wondering if it might be the clutch not engaging properly (its starting to slip slightly upshifting in high RPMs) or if it could be the shift linkage, because its recently started rattling a little bit like something is loose down in there. or if maybe its just internal and time for a new transmission. it doesnt happen in any other gear, only in 5th. sometimes i can pull it out with a little tug, other times ive had to pull over, turn off the car, push the clutch in and release a few times and it slides right out. what do you think?
