tune problem or piston
my b16a2 has been boosted for almost 8 months now
i have noticed that it is smoking alot more so i decided to tear down and found my srp pistons melted does this look like a tune issue or piston problem? im not sure what compression they are.the car was professionally tuned at mainstream performance in ga i was making 300hp 225tq at 15 psi. the worst one is #4 it is missing pieces, all the other ones you can tell are wearing in the same place. i was thinking maybe the pistons werent suppose to handle boost or tune
now to the pics

did you have an wideband in the car? they broke at the week spot in the piston. Lots of things can contribute to this, that's why wide bands, imo are a must have. Do you enjoy doing high speed runs? was this car daily driven, lots of abuse?? fuel pump could of been going bad, lots of possibilities.
Don't have a wideband, new fuel pump always ran really good, for the most part it was a daily and it deff had some high speed runs, but not overly abused

As stated that is the weakest part of the piston around the intake valve relief. Its a poor piston design that should be cut down. The slightest detonation would have caused that.
