Default Open door alarm

Sup My Honda brothers & sisters??
As you know about our Honda's annoying door alarm when the keys are in the ignition and the door is open.

Would any of you know how that bell/alarm is wired up so I can find it and cut the feed so I don't have to listen to that stupid "beep beep bep, beep beep bep..."

God that's so annoying wouldn't you think so?

at least on my 93 accord, there is a little plastic switch that when the door closes, it pushes it, making contact. It is located mid-way up on the body of the car edge thing... If you un-screwed that and permanently shorted it, problem solved. Realize, tho, that if you do that, your dash will no longer be able to tell you if the door is not shut all of the way.

And dont get any ideas about pulling the thing that beeps, how would you remember to turn your lights off??!?!

short it? i dont think so. if there are two wires... try grounding one ... if that dont work, try twisting them together. i wouldnt reccomend "shoting anything out" thats never a good idea that way if you ever for some reason want the beep beep back you can have it.

I'm not positive on this but I think there is a little box under the dash that beeps. Just listen to where it is when it's beeping and unplug it. I did this on a Honda while working on the alarm. That thing annoyed the hell outta me...

Sorry maybe I should of gave more info on this...I have a '95 LX. I thought about sticking the side door switch to be permanantly closed, but the lights on the door will not go on...I'm trying to avoid that......I couldn't exactly pinpoint the alarm, I'll try it again when I have some time. The weather around here has been pretty chilly, it snowed this morning surprisingly

I am in the wrong area for my car

Switches work by taking 2 wires, and shorting them. WHen they are shorted/connected the switch is on. Shorting it is not bad, it just makes it always in the on position.

As for this guys question, I highly doubt that you can no longer get the beep, while still having it for your lights and other stuff, and still have your lights for the door as well.

Only think i can think of is to wire the swittch for the drivers door to the passenger sidee door or door right behind it, so you still have light functionality, but it will only beep when key is in, and the OTHER door is open.

Get a manual, and you can probably just see which wires to swap(just the hot/positive) ones would need to be swapped in the harness relay thing under the dash/steering column.

I'm trying to think of a bad reason to do this and I can't really think of any. You'll probably just lock your keys in your car one day...

But really what I do is carry half a toothpick in my coin pocket and use that toothpick to hold the door sensor open when I don't want the beep. Otherwise, the beep is your friend.
