I am a little confused. From reading the FAQ's on here and on other sites, I get the impression that nitrous with a b15b7 is safe (55 shot or less).

However I read a Mistabone post that states NO JUICE on a d15b7. http://pub143.ezboard.com/fhondadser...icID=885.topic

As I understand he is the God of D Series motors, I am now confused.

Mista Bone stated in that thread that the connecting rods are weak. This is true of all D series motors, and I think I can safely state that as a fact. Perhaps Mista Bone knows something I don't (actually I'm sure he knows many things I don't ) that D15B7 rods are even more unusually spineless. For any FI D series, a well built bottom end is a very good idea IMHO. Granted, poor tuning is what kills engines, but a built engine will go a long way in ensuring you don't turn your motor into an oversized oily paper weight... Just my $0.02

 

given that the rods are puny, people still rev them out to 9 grand on stock bottom end! It's supposed to be safe to spray 1/2 of your flywheel horsepower. D15b7 has what, 102??? So a 55 shot should be ok once in awhile with proper fuel tuning

 

The pictures Mista Bone may or may not have shown you are of MY OLD BLOCK.
Yes 3 holes. I was using the Zex Kit on my D15B7 bottom end.
Granted, I had a Z6 cylinder head with a 3 angle valve job and a mild port.
So I was making decent power without the bottle for a single cam. The #1 wound up snapping, shattering the piston and putting 2 holes in my block and one in the oil pan, it was a bloody mess to say the least.

I've seen d15's spray for a very long time and really work out well.

All depends, you can't get power-crazy with that motor.

 

For this car, I want it to be reliable yet still little fun.

I need more research .
