Default Camshaft break-In HELP! oil synthetic to reg. dangerous?

Ok, i called comp cams to ask how to breakin my cams, they told me i had to change to regular oil b4 i put in the cam. and then continuing using it for maybe 1 or 2 oil changes b4 i go back to synthetic.

Is this safe? I heard all those stories about ring seals being not able to hold open etc...

and is this the true way of breaking the cam in?

Nice grammar. Go back to school - you type like a 12 year old.

The whole concept behind switching back to a non-synthetic oil (aka dino oil) is to encourage some wear of the new mechanical components. This is "break in". Synthetic oil (depending on the make) does not break down as quickly as dino oil and hence it takes a lot longer for metal surfaces to wear and break in.

Your car came stock with dino oil and they suggest dino oil for all future oil changes. Switch from synthetic to dino is not big deal.
