I dont get the hype. Procharger makes a kit like this already.

As for the video, its worthless without some kind of power graph as a comparison

id rather spend 5 grand on a turbo kit that was made alot better and produces 20x more power.

If you're doing circuit racing nothing beats a Rotrex. Very little heat signature, instant throttle response, perfect torque band for FWD to avoid wheel spin out of corners, excellent reliability. They're also very quiet, nice for daily drivers.

As for power it depends on what unit you go for. The bigger C38-91 would make around 500+whp on a K-series, so the B-series should make some nice power as well.

properly sized turbo should pull this off; ie like what i have on my car. After 25 minutes of me beating my car on VIR north course this past saturday, my iat and ect was in normal operating temp range. as far as the noise, i love the sound of open wastegate

with far greater efficiency as well, part of the reason why rotrex is so rarely used, its junk.

In the circuit racing scene there're a few very fast high end Honda builds which use Rotrex units. They're also popular in K-swapped Lotus Elise. Calling them junk would definitely be a mistake. I'm looking forward to the Kraftwerks B-series kit, I only hope you can keep power steering.

Exactly. How is a 450whp capable centrifugal blower "junk." And what kind of turbo has instant spoool and is capable of that much power? Pray tell.

As far as the pro charger kit ill have to look into it. Althouhh im pretty sure prochargersarent nearly as efficient as rotrex blowers.

Define "instant spool"...

This kit isn't junk, but yes, the GT2871R in the smaller housings on a lot of B-series (1.8+) and K-series, is a powerhouse on the circuit at over 300whp. You'd never be able to effectively use 450hp on a FWD circuit application, anyway, so the "power number" is rather a moot point.

Its not for everyone, but it definitely has its place for users.. Especially the poor souls in California that deal with all the C.A.R.B nazism..

Definitely cool but as it has been said before, a turbo is the most efficient power adder. "Exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens, and you go faster." - Jeremy Clarkson. I'm planning on using a GT 3076R with a .63 AR housing for circuit use. Very linear at lower boost levels and most will spool by 4k. I'm not even sure I'd be below 4k staying in 2nd around a slow/tight auto-x course.

Looks like it's finally out: http://cms.skunk2.com/id/918/Kraftwe...ercharger-Kit/

The kit includes a C30-94 so 350-400whp shouldn't be impossible. Too bad you have to remove the power steering though.

That point in the throttle where any less throttle and the turbine slows down and anymore throttle and turbine speeds up. I've seen big turbos that have a large window and small turbos that have a very small window, but I have never personally experienced a turbo that has no window, like a positive displacement blower (and I know the Rotrex is not positive displacement).

$2500 non intercooled.

The install looks hella easier than jrsc and vortech.

probably closer to the $3500+ with a nice header and intercooler

so can these be rebuilt or repaired?

Very crafty. But that is 462hp @8500rpms, using 18psi. I have a silly question for you. Is the driver at 8500rpms the entire range of the course? Your example clearly shows that he was not at 462hp during the course (he ranged about 4000-7200 with a spike into about 7500 on the back straight with a nicely used final drive. That's why I stated what I did, how I did. Its a nice run, but it goes directly towards my point. But it is very nice to see, indeed.
