Default Ignition Timing EG hatch b16a2

Ok I posted on here earlier about me having trouble with my ignition timing, its fully advanced and still like 1/8th of an inch off. I checked my cam timing and it's perfect, my spark plugs are fine as well. I didn't short out my service connector tho could that be the problem?

1/8th inch off what/where?

Are you trying to set mechanical timing with a light?

I'm just trying to figure out what is the actual problem?

Yes my distributor is fully advance and the red line on the crank barring is still like 1/8th of an inch away from the pointer everytime the light flashes

Retarding the distributor does not bring the line closer to the pointer?

And what degree is your timing light set at while doing this?

No retarding the distributor makes it worse, and I have no idea how to tell

Mechanical timing must be off, either due to improper setting of the timing belt, Or aftermarket cams possibly throwing of mechanical timing.

I'm assuming you are using the white mark on the crank pulley to line up with the TDC mark found on the oil pump/plastics?
And cams are positioned correctly?
