94 GSR ABS removal
How does H-T feel about removing ABS from a true GSR integra?
I want to take mine out, but at the same time I don't want to depreciate the value of the car and ruin a gsr.
I think the lines and box are all extremely ugly.
Would you take yours out if it didn't work? Or keep it there because GSR?

If it does not work and your not going to fix it, remove it.
Of course it will devalue the car, by more then if the car has a non working ABS system, ABS parts are not cheap. 94

I would not take it out. I have driven cars with and without ABS, and ABS is a lifesaver. When you panic stop, you tend to slam on the brakes rather than modulate for the best traction as the ABS does. This means you plow straight forward, often off the road or into an object, rather than being able to steer out of danger. The car can also yaw or rotate as different wheels brake differently due to traction differences and such. I would fix whatever is wrong with it and keep it at almost any cost.

keep the abs is my vote. forget the whole "tucked bay" fad. function over form, son. I hate when ricers rip out **** to "save weight." finding power steering brackets and lines for my gsr which someone decided to take out for some reason has been a total nightmare.
Maybe so, but I would say most drivers are inexperienced with accident avoidance. The only ones who aren't are experience race car drivers.
I just ordered all the stuff to remove my abs as well. (4 front brake lines & the 40/40 valve of the RS)
My pump doesn't work, makes a terrible noise and just flat out annoys me.
I don't like it, so I plan on removing it. It's your car.
It DOES devalue your car, but if your like the "rest of us" you may plan on keeping your car long anyways.
ABS is a safety feature, but its all personal preference.
Here's the how-to I'm going to follow.

i've already decided on removing power steering (the right way with a civic rack and UCM) personally i don't like how power steering feels.
no power steering isn't so bad...at first feels like a workout but it's only takes effort on turns from dead stop such as parking.
Was going to install the power steering pump but actually like the engine bay without the pump...looks cleaner

id rather not have abs. if you can learn to pump the brakes when coming to a sudden stop rather than slamming the brakes, youll be fine. plus engine braking helps as well.
if its a daily then why the hell do you need to save like 15lbs taking out the ABS. if it's a track car, sure, gut it to hell.
personally i love power steering. i like being able to steer with one finger. right now i have no power steering and i don't mind the effort it takes to turn the wheel. i have upper body strength. but i'm going the complete opposite direction, gonna put the power steering back in and upgrade it with a quaife input gear so i have super responsive, nice power steering.
hey everyone has different tastes.

If you would have said that initially, I would have agreed but you generalized everyone who trys to lose weight as ricers and that is not the case. My DD is a boat and I could care less because it is comfortable as a lazyboy!lol

Hey that's a decent write up I think I might do the same when I rip my car apart to paint the engine bay black.

I have a VX so I have no PS or ABS and it is currently gutted behind the front seats. Not because for weight though but no one realize that when they look at my POS. I have to weld in a new rear quarter before I put the full interior back in since it is a requirement in the classes I race.
