anyone remove their ABS??
if this a daily driver i see NO need to do this at all, your not gonna see much weight decrease. And if your going AutoX then its going to get hard to get use to your car without ABS, since you've been driving it this whole time with it.
i know it would take getting used to, however i HATE all the clutter in engine bay caused by the hard lines and ABS unit. I have heard I can switch lines from a older RS Integra which doesnt have ABS. someone let me know if this is true and how much work is involved in doing so. Please don't tell me i won't like it, because I have driven plenty of cars w/o ABS and I have no problem with it.
I want to do the same thing on my 95 gsr, my abs unit is broken so I want to convert to no abs, looks hard though, with all those lines everywhere, someone tell us how to do it.

Also this thread reminds me of when my GS-R was stock and my uncle drove it occasionally to work. One of his coworkers told him that my car was "fast because of all those lines" (referring to the ABS unit).
I dont know how the abs stops working, but my car sat in my front yard without a motor for like 2 years so I guess thats why it doesnt work, I like it with no abs and I really want to take it out, please elaborate on how the removal is done and thanks for the info so far.
its pretty simple you get everything from a rs teg master cylinder prop valve and the master cylinder to prop valve lines and the prop valve to front brake lines the rear will bolt up fine. with the full system removed (abs unit, abs computer, abs sub-harness, abs fuse box and relays plus all the lines) you will lose almost 30 lbs. i havent weighed all my stuff but its a good amount. i hated the abs in my car plus it looks like ****
1. buy your year rs brake lines.
2. buy ek prop valve.
3. follow the line and replace them, and replace prop valve.
4. bleed your brake system.
i think all that information is correct ill have to verify that but we did it to my friends gsr and here was the outcome. the lines get annoying to fish out and fish back in.

Um, why the heck would you bleed it before you replaced the lines? Youd want to do that after...

I am haveing my ABS removed as well sometime next year. I am in the same boat as the rest of you, I dont have a clue in hell as how to do this so a friend of mine who is a Hondatech at Honda is doing it for me. Hope everything goes well with that. And I agree I think the engine bay looks so much cleaner wiht out the ABS. Good luck.

IMO, function over form. I'd rather have ABS instead of taking it out just to have a "shaved" engine bay. Show car, sure it's not going to drive anyway, on a street car where you barely pop your hood for anyone. Not very worth it at all.
Eh....I'm having my ABS removed due to issues with it. I actually tallied up the total cost to repair the damned thing ( 2 sensors and the modulator itself ) versus removing it. Removing it was way cheaper
Though....I do agree partially about that shaved engine bay comment. Some things....I just can't do without ( like power steering & window washers ).
