met a kid today with a civic and a power tower throttle body spacer.
i was driving and another civic pulled up, reved and sound like it was boosted. SO, i ignored as usual but was caught up to at hte next light and the kid asked me to pull into a parking lot. I did, we compared cars, my b16 hatchie to his stock motor dx coupe. I asked if it was turbo, said no and popped the hood. A dx motor with a Helix Power Tower throttle body spacer. THis kid was raving about how this made a huge difference. Is this true? I had never even heard of these.
If it actually made a difference, then everyone would have it. Since you nor I have ever heard of it, chances are it dont do nothing but make a wistle sound.
i had the same encounter. the kid said it was the best thing he ever did. so i was like really he was raving and you know the rest id like to borrow and try one but my money is goin towards a ice man air force kit something tried and proven
well, i have known about this thing for a while now(probably 3 months), and i asked people on a different forum if they knew if it made any difference or helped, i never found anything out, all i know is that it is like $100 for all aplications, i would really like to know if the thing works or not. oh yea, did it sound good or bad? later.
when I had my s10 a throttle body spacer was a common mod probably the same thing just "powered" to rope in the newbs.
it sounded whistly like a turbo, so i guess it sounded good; but since it's NOT a turbo, i guess it sounded pretty ghey.

Sounds like a spacer between the throttle body and the intake tube... with a swirl pattern on the inside to "create air velocity allowing better fuel mixture in the intake manifold" or something like that... sounds like BS to me, kinda like electric superchargers and those vortex things they make that go inside your intake piping.
It is supposed to do the same thing as swirl porting on a carburated engine (I know for a fact it helps alot on those?) the concept is easy to grasp but I wouldnt expect anything great
