Icon2 Backfire at high rpm and random misfire at idle

I just did a vtec swap on my 94 accord lx and now my car backfires at high rpms and has a random misfire almost like a stutter at idle I think its ignition related but I'm not sure does anyone know what would cause that

What? Did you put a B1 in a B2 chassis? You will need the B1 Dizzy.

Well that's one reason why. The B2 dizzy won't properly fire or advance the timing enough. Get the B1 dizzy and that should theoretically solve your problem.

You will also need to wire up the VTEC oil pressure sensors and the VTEC activation solenoid. But you should already know that..

You will need to convert your wiring to internal coil for the b1 to work. do a search for "external coil to internal coil conversion"

aye just to give u guys an update i believe i found a solution i took the ignition wires off of the dizzy and where the Cyl #1 wire goes was rusted inside the cap i swapped the cap with a new one and it runs fine even without using the B1 dizzy

For anyone else that reads this thread, the first thing you can do when checking misfires is to pull a spark plug wire one at a time and see if the engine misses, if it doesn't you've narrowed it to that cylinder.

I was gonna say that even with the B2 dizzy on a F22B1 should still work. Alot of ppl convert internal to external coil for more aftermarket support such as the MSD coil setup for better spark, etc.
