A friend of mine has a Honda Element. It randomly has intermittent starting issues. All the lights come on and power is there, it just doesn't turn over. After several tries and 15-30 min it will randomly start.

Now, I have never even looked under the hood of one of these things. To me it sounds like a switch, relay, or possible starter issue as it never actually tries to turn over. Her car is currently stuck at a gas station, so I wasn't sure if there was some sort of common issue with these I was unaware of.

This is a good guide for a situation like this.

If the starter isn't turning and it is getting the proper amount of power from the battery, it may be time to replace the starter. They are one of those parts that can and will just die for no reason at all.
