hello all new here to this forum but have been others for quite some time. Have been but have looked on here quite often...I have a 92 Ls with some mods of course but am having a problem with clutch or tranny can't tell which yet I am somewhat mechanically inclined, but this is not seeable, okay here it goes when i just start it up tranny is usually fine until obviously till it starts to warm up then i have problems getting it into any gear and if stopped nearly impossible to get back into first, and when i do (with the clutch almost through the floor) its still feels like it wants to move forward and of course now while driving i don't even use the clutch more trouble than it is worth...If any of you can help i would appreciate it. Oh yea the clutch only has 45k on it and the tranny only has about 60k on it but the original clutch cable has 167k on it. Well thanks again...

 

Well, since you already mentioned the clutch cable, did you check the tension of the cable itself? You can adjust it pretty easily. Right about where the cable comes out of the tranny, there should be a barrel-like adjuster than you can move to loosen/tighten the cable. Try adjusting that, see if it works... if not, I would be leaning more towards the clutch itself. Is it a stock unit? 45k miles of somewhat hard driving on it will **** up a stock clutch. They aren't meant to take the abuse that most aftermarket clutches are designed for. That's my 2 cents, anyone else care to give their opinion?
