Default Noise from left rear wheel?

Just a question. When I make a right hand turn I have a rubbing noise coming from the left rear wheel. It kind of sounds like a metal on metal scraping noise. The odd thing is it only happens when I am turning to the right and it is worse with a sharper turn. I was thinking it might be the brake cover or whatever that is inside the rim. I was wondering if you guys think that might be it and if yes can I just remove the shield? Thanks

You probably need a brake job. Seriously, the rear brakes on my teg would do that at first and then all the time. The wear indicator is barely touching and when you turn it makes the noise.

thanks man I will take a look and see if that is happening. I don't want to have to replace the back because the front really needs it too and that is a pain in the butt, not to mention that I don't have the time right now to be messing with it.

What he said, I've had the same problem with my driver's side front wheel. I need to get a brake job done pretty quickly.

Tip:

The front calipers can be compressed with a C-clamp but the rear calipers can't. The rears have groves shaped like + and you have to turn them (with a big fat screw driver) to get them to compress. Also, make sure the groves line up to the post on the back of the pads, other wise the pads will hit the rotor at an angle and wear out in about 10,000 miles. (Speaking from experience )

BTW, throwing on a $16 set of pads (autozone) is a lot cheaper than replacing rotors with grooves in them.

Thanks for the tip Trench. It would really suck to get in there and screw up having to replace them again in 10,000 miles. That would be a major waste. Thanks again.
